Acting is a marathon, not a sprint. Parmeet seems to be running with both ease and pace in this industry. Everything from his body of work, his stellar reviews, to his repeated contracts points to the fact that there are multiple things Parmeet is doing consistently to keep this stream of success flowing.
His work with Tier5 Theatre Company is varied and in-depth. He started with the world premiere of the play Haunt Me and recently collaborated with them on Treasure Island. Both productions differ in nature, but are equally intricate and filled with drama. One flaunts his comedic timing and the other his deep dramatic instincts. This is also the reason Parmeet won the Best Actor Award for his stellar work in Haunt Me and will be collaborating on a deeper level with Tier5 in their future production of Titus Andronicus. With this company, he has exhibited bold artistic choices and the depth of work that has led to multiple contracts.
One special thing about Parmeet’s work is that in each character you can see glimpses of his own self. He brings the character to him, delivering a very personal and unforgettable performance endowed with deep personalization. His comedy is also a masterclass—you would never see him play the joke; instead, he leans into the conflict and heightens it. For his character, the situation might feel anything but funny, yet for us, watching a fully fleshed-out character in a high-conflict situation is utterly hilarious.
What ties it all together is his physicality. After deep work on the circumstances, conflict, relationships, and objectives, Parmeet’s grounded and poised demeanor becomes the perfect canvas for his artistry.
Looking at his upcoming contracts, they are already studded with leading roles. This is the result of painstaking dedication. Parmeet never lets a day go by without taking a productive step forward. In a recent conversation, he revealed that he is continuously training—taking multiple classes—and that on the days he is not in the theater, he is almost always in a classroom.
