Asian Literary Society and Adventure Women India organized the Mehfil-e-Sukhan Mushaira 2022 in India Islamic Cultural Center at New Delhi

Asian Literary Society (ALS) and Adventure Women India (AWI) organized the Mehfil-e-Sukhan Mushaira 2022 in India Islamic Cultural Center at New Delhi on 26th March 2022.

Mr. Manoj Krishnan, Founder, Asian Literary Society, and Ms. Minal Mathur, Founder, Adventure Women India welcomed all the distinguished guests and participants that included many eminent and aspiring Urdu poets from all over the country.

Mr. Manoj Krishnan shared some of the classical Urdu couplets in his inaugural address and said, “Urdu is just not a language, it’s a way of life and program like Mehfil-e-Sukhan helps to promote this language and helps the new generation to get acquainted with its rich heritage.”

Ms. Minal Mathur in her welcome address stressed the importance of events like Mehfil-e-Sukhan. She said, “Mehfil-e-Sukhan is an amazing opportunity for literature-loving people to connect with and learn from like-minded admirers. Furthermore, it offers a chance to aspiring poets to share their talent.”

Guest of Honor, Dr. Amarendra Khatua (Former Secretary, MEA) and distinguished participants Ms. Nasera Sharma (Urdu writer, Sahitya Akademi Winner), Prof. Khalid Alvi (Writer & Urdu Scholar) Ms. Aleena Itrat (Writer & Poet), Dr. Mridula Tandon (Founder, Jashn-e-Hind), Mr. Pratap Somvanshi (Poet & Executive Editor, Hindustan, Ms. Anita Chand (Writer & Poet) and Perwaiz Shaharyar (Senior Editor, NCERT) enthralled the audience with their soulful recitations and insightful speech.

A slam poetry session for community members was also organized in this event where many poets from the Asian Literary Society and Adventure Women India recited their poems.

Mehfil-e-Sukhan received an overwhelming response from audiences who applauded this initiative to promote the Urdu language and poetry.

Asian Literary Society, an initiative by ALSphere Foundation is a vibrant platform that promotes Asian literature, art, indigenous languages and serves the society through its social initiatives for special needs and the elderly community.
