The sixteenth edition of BITSMUN Goa, held from February 7th to 9th, 2025, at BITS Pilani, K. K. Birla Goa Campus, marked another milestone in the legacy of one of India’s most prestigious Model United Nations conferences. With the theme ‘Conciliation in Consensus’, BITSMUN Goa 2025 gathered bright minds from across the country to simulate global diplomacy and explore practical solutions to critical world issues.
The event welcomed passionate delegates, aspiring diplomats, and policy enthusiasts, providing a platform that transcended conventional debates. Through committees like the UNSC, DISEC, IAEA, SOCHUM, AIPPM, and International Press, the conference tackled complex topics including AI in warfare, neocolonialism in Africa, nuclear non-proliferation, and India’s political polarization.

Each committee fostered rigorous dialogue and critical thinking. In DISEC, delegates debated the regulation of autonomous weapons. The IAEA examined the JCPOA and its global implications. SOCHUM addressed the economic and political impacts of neocolonialism in Africa, while AIPPM focused on curbing hate speech and reducing polarization in Indian politics. The UNSC navigated global security concerns, and the Ad Hoc Committee tested crisis-resolution skills in real-time. Meanwhile, the Indian War Cabinet simulated national defense scenarios, and the International Press ensured transparency and sharp reportage throughout the conference.

A major highlight was the presence of Smt. Smriti Irani, former Union Minister, who inaugurated the conference as Chief Guest. In her keynote speech, she underscored the role of youth-led diplomacy in shaping future governance and urged young delegates to pursue leadership with empathy and integrity.
