As the year comes to an end and a new one begins, people have their unique ways of celebrating, filled with excitement and enthusiasm. Devotees, too, have their own distinct style of marking New Year’s Eve. ISKCON Dwarka has organized a vibrant Maha Harinam Sankirtan Mela on December 31 for all devotees visiting the temple. The event will start at 7:00 PM and continue until 12:30 AM, welcoming the New Year with joyous devotion.

Speaking about the event, ISKCON Dwarka’s Vice President, Shri Gaur Das, remarked that Harinam Sankirtan is the spiritual practice prescribed for Kaliyuga. According to the Shrimad Bhagavatam, the incarnation of this age, Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, propagated Krishna worship through the Sankirtan movement, spreading Krishna consciousness across India. In line with this tradition, ISKCON Dwarka is organizing this Harinam Sankirtan to spread Krishna consciousness across the city and to everyone. Devotees are encouraged to bid farewell to the past year and usher in the New Year with the holy names of the Lord. He urged everyone to adopt the Hare Krishna Mahamantra in their lives for their spiritual welfare and to receive the causeless mercy of the Lord for self-upliftment.

The Harinam Sankirtan will feature not only the temple devotees but also renowned kirtan artist Gaurangi Gandharvika Devi Dasi from Mayapur, along with her group, who will present melodious Krishna bhajans and lead the chanting of the Hare Krishna Mahamantra.

The event will also include a cake-cutting ceremony and snacks prasadam for everyone.
