The CSK vs LSG match led the teams to earn a point each, but the fans in the stadium made the most of the downpour, chanting wildly for their favourite players and dancing to the DJ.
The Tata Indian Premier League 2023 (IPL) has never ceased to amaze audiences and every cricket lover in the world. Every year it comes with a new vibe, enthusiasm and energy, offering fans something new to take away and a reason to rejoice for their favourite teams. This year too, since apparently, Mahindra Singh Dhoni is said to play his last IPL match on May 14th against KKR, fans and MSD lovers can’t keep calm for their “Thala” and are often seen going crazy among the crowds with placards, and chants that the whole stadium can hear.
Something similar happened last evening on May 3rd at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow for the 45th match of the season between CSK and LSG. The Rain Gods couldn’t control their excitement and started a downpour, which resulted in LSG only playing till the 19th over. Later, this led to the match being abandoned, and both teams gained a point. However, the disappointment that the fans felt after the rains were made up when they started chanting at the top of their voice the slogan for their Thala, “Dhoni Ki Jhalak Sabse Alag,” and also for Jadeja, “Jaddu Ki Jhalak Sabse Alag.”
The cheering couldn’t stop, and it made for a great evening for the fans as they danced to the tunes of the DJ, who played their favourite tracks. Many disappointed fans even hysterically went ahead in creating the disappointed cricket fan meme, and some others kept chanting MSD’s name for the whole stadium crowd to come together and showcase their love for him and CSK. The DJ, in the end, apart from giving the crowd an incredible music experience, cheered and motivated others as well with “Lucknow Ki Jhalak”, and the audience roared, “Sabse Alag”.
The 45th match saw CSK winning the toss and choosing to field first. LSG then reached 19.2 over, making 125/7, but the match ultimately got abandoned since the rains did not stop. However, it made for a one-of-a-kind match experience for cricket fans and lovers.
