FIMT College Hosts Anugoonj 2026 Cultural Festival Prelims, Showcasing Vibrant Talent from GGSIPU Colleges

Fairfield Institute of Management and Technology (FIMT), New Delhi, successfully hosted the Anugoonj 2026 Cultural Festival Prelims – Zone 3, witnessing enthusiastic participation from various colleges affiliated with Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU). The two-day inter-college cultural extravaganza celebrated creativity, talent, and youthful expression across music, fine arts, theatre, dance, and literary events.

High-Energy Performances Mark Day One of Anugoonj Prelims

One of the major highlights of the prelims was the Battle of Bands, which drew energetic performances from student bands across GGSIPU institutions. The competition showcased musical creativity, coordination, and strong stage presence.

The band Abja from Vivekanand Institute of Professional Studies (VIPS) secured the first position, impressing judges with their synchronized and versatile performance. The runner-up position was claimed by the band led by Ishan Jain from Jagannath Institute of Management Studies, featuring a large ensemble of talented musicians.

In Classical Vocal, Dron from VIPS secured first place, followed by AaminSadiq from Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology (MAIT).
Light Vocal Music (Indian) was won by AdityaRawat (VIPS), with Saksham Sharma (BPIT) as runner-up.
In Light Vocal Music (Western), Kripa John from Gitarattan Institute of Business Studies (GIBS) secured the top position, followed by Chehak Sharma from MAIT.

Group Singing and Fine Arts Competitions Enthrall Audience

The Western Group Song category was topped by the team from MAIT, while VIPS secured the second position. In Indian Group Song, VIPS emerged as winners, with MAIT finishing as runner-up.

Fine arts competitions also witnessed strong participation.

  • Collage Making was won by Aman Kumar Chaurasiya (BPIT), with Tamanna (Tecnia Institute of Advanced Studies) as runner-up.
  • On-the-Spot Painting and Cartooning saw dominant performances from students of BPIT and MAIT.
  • Clay Modelling was won by NishaDabral (Guru Nanak College of Education).
  • Rangoli competition was secured by Rahul Malik and Muskan Singh from Bhavan’sLeelavatiMunshi College of Education.

The prestigious Mr.&Ms.Anugoonj titles were awarded to AakritiMajithia (Delhi Institute of Advanced Studies) and Rudraksh Kumar Singh (Krishna College of Commerce), with Purvi and Janial securing the runner-up position.

Day Two Celebrates Dance, Theatre, and Literary Excellence

The second day of Anugoonj 2026, held on January 20, continued the celebrations with competitions in dance, theatre, and literary arts.

The Street Dance competition was won by the team from BhartiyaVidyaBhawan College, while VIPS secured the runner-up position. In Classical Dance, Prashasti from MAIT claimed first place, followed by DivijaBhandari from Tecnia Institute of Advanced Studies.

The Choreography event was topped by VIPS, with Rukmini Devi Institute of Advanced Studies finishing second.
In theatre events, Mono Acting was won by Akansha from GIBS, while Nishita from Rukmini Devi Institute of Advanced Studies secured second position.

Group theatre events saw VIPS winning the One Act Play, with MAIT as runner-up. The Street Play competition was clinched by MAIT, followed by Tecnia Institute of Advanced Studies.

Strong Participation in Literary Events

Literary competitions saw vibrant participation across Hindi and English categories.

  • Poetry Recitation (Hindi) was won by Akansha (GIBS), followed by Rudra (JIMS).
  • Just A Minute (Hindi) was topped by ArnavTiwari (VIPS).
  • Storytelling (Hindi) was won by HimikaChaudhry (GIBS).
  • Hindi Debate was secured by Chahek Jain and Angel Sharma (Tecnia Institute of Advanced Studies).

In English literary events:

  • Poetry Recitation was won by RitikSolanki (GIBS).
  • Just A Minute (English) was secured by PSH Yaashika (GIBS).
  • Storytelling (English) was won by Naveen Mishra (Guru Nanak College of Education).
  • English Debate was clinched by Bhramjot Singh Bedi and Maurya Chopra (MAIT).
