Gandhinagar, Gujarat: Gujarat’s Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Ishwarbhai Parmar here today said the scheme to provide financial assistance to children under-18 age group rendered destitute for loss of mother-father due to serious disease like Coronavirus under Mukhya Mantri Bal Seva Yojna will remain in force.

He said that Chief Minister Vijay Rupani had on a compassionate ground decided that Gujarat Government will provide financial assistance to such children under the Mukhya Mantri Bal Seva Yojna started in July-2021.

It was decided to provide assistance of Rs 4,000 per month to 1,000 children who lost both their parents.

In another decision, it was decided on July 28, 2012 that an assistance of Rs 2,000 will be given even to children who lost one of their parents.

On August 2 last, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani had directly transferred Rs 2,000 to bank accounts of about 4,000 such children through DBT. This scheme will also be applicable for children till they attain the age of 18.

The Minister said that since there has been continued decline in the number of Coronavirus after June 15, and negligible by June 30, the State Government had fixed June 30, 2021 as the cut-off date for availing the facility while August 31, 2021 was fixed as the last date for application.

He said that Chief Minister Vijay Rupani will transfer the assistance through DBT to another 8,000 such under-18 destitute eligible children who lost their parentsdue to Coronavirus or some serious disease from Rajkot on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday on September 17, 2021.

The Minister clarified that this assistance will be provide to children till they attain the age of 18, and further clarified that the state government is continuing this scheme.
