The first female poet in Hindi was awarded the Atal Award for Poetry in 2022 by the Governor of Maharashtra.

Pooja Shree is a well-known Hindi writer, poet, and storyteller who received the prestigious Atal Awards in the category of lifetime achievement. The award was conferred on her by Bhagat Singh Koshyari. At Raj Bhawan, during the award ceremony, the Governor of Maharashtra said, “Atal Ji was very fond of Hindi literature, and I am very happy that this year the award has been conferred on well-known people across India in various fields.”
