Sarjapura Citizens Close the Year with a Vision for Responsible Urban Growth at Housing Empowerment Conclave

Sarjapura, Bengaluru [India], December 31, 2024: As 2024 draws to a close, Sarjapura—one of Bengaluru’s fastest-growing residential corridors—marked the year with a meaningful citizen-led initiative focused on awareness, collaboration, and responsible urban development. The Citizen’s Housing Empowerment Conclave, held on 20 December at ISME College, Sarjapura, brought together residents, RWAs, experts, and public representatives to reflect on the year gone by and collectively shape a more transparent and sustainable housing future.

The conclave saw enthusiastic participation from representatives of over 70 residential societies, making it one of the largest and most impactful citizen housing forums organised in Sarjapura to date. The event served as a constructive platform for residents to exchange learnings, understand regulatory frameworks, and strengthen community-led engagement around housing governance.

With Sarjapura continuing its rapid transformation, the conclave underscored the importance of informed homeownership, legal awareness, and cooperative dialogue among citizens, developers, and authorities—setting a positive tone for the year ahead.

Leadership and Expert Insights

The conclave was graced by Gopinath Reddy, Hon’ble MLC, as the Keynote Speaker. Addressing the gathering, he appreciated the maturity and forward-looking approach of Sarjapura’s residents in proactively engaging on urban housing matters. He reaffirmed his support for citizen-driven initiatives that promote transparency, safety, and long-term livability, emphasizing that sustainable urban growth is best achieved through collaboration.

The session was led by Dhananjaya Padmanabhachar, Founder of the Karnataka Housing Forum, who provided practical insights into RERA provisions, OC and Khata processes, builder obligations, and the role of RWAs in ensuring compliance and collective representation.

Discussions emphasized the value of preparedness, documentation, and collective dialogue in building secure and well-managed residential communities.
