Gandhinagar, Gujarat: Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Bhupendra Patel addressed the launching ceremony of the Go-Green scheme for the purchase of electric two-wheelers for laborers and handing over appointment letters to various trade supervisors-instructors of ITIs of the state. He said that the welfare of the people of the state and employment to youth are priorities of our government.
Appointment letters were handed over to about 1300 newly appointed supervisors-instructors at the event organized by the Labor Employment Department at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar.
Congratulating the newly appointed Supervisors-Instructors Mr. Patel said that, the goal of the Government is to provide employment to maximum number of people in the State.
In this context, CM said that if those who say that youth do not get employment opportunities shall cross-check numbers of employment with other state, then they will realize how much employment are given in Gujarat as compared to other states.
Mr. Patel said that Gujarat has become a role model of all-round development under the visionary leadership and planning of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi. Gujarat has decided to become a ‘self-reliant Gujarat’ on the path of self-reliant India, whether it is employment or safety.
Government is committed to establishing sound arrangements to make it easier for the citizens to access the facilities at their doorstep, especially for the common middle-class families and urged the citizens to be aware of the benefits of the schemes they meet.
Launching the Go-Green scheme of two-wheeler e-vehicle for the transportation of organized and construction workers in the state, Mr. Patel said, when people knew less about the subject of climate change, Mr. Modi started a separate department on climate change in Gujarat with special concern for the environment. We have also launched schemes like Go Green to increase the reach of e-vehicles so as to minimize the damage to the environment, stop air pollution and facilitate vehicular traffic.
CM also handed over a cheque of subsidy for the purchase of e-vehicles to about five organized and construction workers. Corona has explained to us the importance of oxygen and people are increasingly planting trees in their areas, in their backyards. Now, the use of this electric vehicle can also protect the environment by preventing carbon emissions.
Congratulating the newly appointed Supervisors and Instructors, Labor and Employment Minister Shri Brijesh Kumar Merja said that prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi has made a concerted effort to encourage the ITIs operating in the state to provide modern training to the youth as well as skillful training as per the demands of the time.
Mr. Merja added that the four criteria for the progress of the state are peace, security, stability and good governance. As a result of peace and good governance in Gujarat for the last 27 years, the establishment of world-class industrial houses in Gujarat has created massive employment which has resulted in Gujarat proving to be a role model.
Principal Secretary of Department of Labor and Employment Smt. Anju Sharma welcomed the guests present and the selected supervisors-instructors and beneficiaries in ITI, outlined the program and gave details of the Go Green scheme.
Under the “Go-Green Scheme” launched by the state government with the objective of making the state green-pollution free and making the workers self-sufficient in transport, special financial assistance will be given to the organized and construction workers for the purchase of electric two-wheelers.
The subsidy will be paid to the workers of the organized sector up to 30% of the cost of the vehicle or up to Rs. 30,000. While Provision has been made in the Go-Green scheme to provide 50 per cent of the cost of the vehicle or a limit of Rs. 30,000 to the construction sector workers. Apart from this, a one-time subsidy on RTO registration tax and road tax of the vehicle will also be given under this scheme.
