Yi (Young Indians) Gurugram chapter was invited by entrepreneur Dhruv Kohli who has built one of the worlds most exhaustive private museums dedicated to superheroes at his residence. The museum is built around Marvel superheroes and has movie centric and character centric progressions with the same being built over 11 years of collecting.
When Dhruv was asked about his most valuable acquisition, he pointed to an autographed Iron Man collectible he recently bought an auction in Las Vegas, Nevada, U.S.A. for a small fortune. “The collectible has risen in value by about 20% since I bought it”, beamed a clearly delighted Mr. Kohli when queried on current values by Mr. Aseem Gupta who is Chairman of Health, Road Safety & Outreach verticals at Yi Gurugram.
Mr. Kohli has a museum which is curated and has taken over a decade to build, he currently has close to 400 articles with one of his rarest articles being the Hulk Buster from Avengers: Age of Ultron. The most recent addition to this collection is the Iron Man – Mark 85 from the Avengers: End Game movie.
When asked what he does when he cant find a figure, Dhruv casually shrugs and says, “I assemble it”. He goes on to explain that he sources the various parts from across the world from the leaders in the field and then puts them together, sometimes this is a very time taking process with the figure being made in multiple tries. Thereafter he goes on to show a collection of figures created by him.
Private art collections such as his are the hidden gems in the city, the visit was concluded by the presentation of a momento by the Yi Gurugram Chapter Chairman Mr. Navreet Singh Sehgal to Mr. Kohli with a word of thanks.
