1.What motivated you to write this particular book, and how did the concept for the story come to you?
Answer: My mom inspired me to write this book. After I narrated the story to her, she really encouraged me to write it, as she loved the mystery behind it. I’ve always been a fan of a good murder mystery plot, and I wanted to create one of my own.
2.Can you describe your writing process? Do you follow any particular routines or have rituals that help you get into the zone?
Answer: I used to write for two hours every night after everyone had gone to bed. That quiet time helped me concentrate fully on the book. During the day, I would think about various situations, jot them down, and then expand on them in the evening.
3.The characters in your book are very unique and memorable. Are they inspired by real people, or did they come from your imagination?
Answer: The characters were purely products of my imagination. They are not based on any real people I know.
4.Your book explores [specific theme or issue]. What inspired you to delve into this theme, and what do you hope readers will take away from it?
Answer: I’ve always loved the genre of murder mysteries, as they keep the imagination running and the reader hooked. I hope readers enjoy the book and become eager for more, which would motivate me to keep writing.
5.The world-building in your novel is vivid and immersive. How did you create the setting, and did you draw inspiration from any real-world locations or historical events?
Answer: I imagined every aspect of the world—the characters and storyline. Since I did my master’s in the U.K., I drew some inspiration from their architecture and set the story in a large mansion on the outskirts of a major city.
6.As a writer, how do you balance originality with the expectations of the genre? Were there any challenges in adding your own twist to familiar elements?
Answer: The biggest challenge in writing a murder mystery is to keep the reader guessing and pointing fingers at each character until the murderer is revealed. This was the most difficult part for me. I included the twists I wanted, and the originality emerged from there.
7.The pacing of your story is well-balanced, keeping the readers engaged from beginning to end. How did you manage to maintain tension and momentum throughout the narrative?
Answer: The hardest part of writing a novel is what’s called the ‘marathon of the middle’—the part where the story can become dull and the reader might put the book down for a break. To keep this from happening, I made sure to balance action and events in every chapter, keeping the story exciting throughout.
8.With the changing landscape of media and reader preferences, how do you see traditional storytelling evolving, and how have you adapted your writing to appeal to modern audiences?
Answer: I believe the art of reading is slowly dying, and we should all do our part to keep it alive, especially in today’s world of podcasts, audiobooks, and the internet. I adapted my story by incorporating modern elements, things that people use in their daily lives, so readers can easily relate to the characters in the novel.
