Anil Shetty says, Mahashivaratri is a very big festival for us.
I start my day at 9.30 am by visiting a temple nearby and then head towards Someswara temple which is a very ancient temple. We organise a very big pooja and I participate in singing bhajans along with the rest of the devotees present at the temple. I fast the entire day. As a Mangalorean, Mahashivaratri is a very big festival for us. We have the most powerful temples in Mangalore and lord Shiva is widely prayed.
In my constituency, BTM Layout they perform a mythological drama as a part of the Jagran. This is to entertain all the bakths who are staying awake in the night. I attend this event every year and post the event I have plans of visiting my friend’s place to break my fast early in the morning the following day. I cannot wait to savour the rice cakes which is a very popular Mangalorean dish. This has been my ritual for Mahashivaratri for several years now.
