New Guidelines issued to safeguard CSR Fund Utilization!

Reference to the public circular released on 4th April, 2024.

Keeping in view, the upcoming Lok Sabha Election, few more guidelines have been issued by Google India Private Limited and FNB Corporations to stop misutilization of CSR Funds.

During the general body meeting held on 15th April, 2024, this decision has come to immediate action after consultation with Ministry of Corporate Affairs under Government of India.

To receive the CSR Funds, it is mandatory for the Applicants to submit the Hospital Estimation Letter if they have applied for Medical Funding and the applicants have to submit the Admission Call Letter along with fee payment annexure if they have applied for Educational Funding.

As currently, we are clearing the pending funds for the year 2022 and 2023. We request the applicants to submit the estimation letter or admission call letter issued to them in the period 2021, 2022 or 2023.

As mentioned in the circular issued to public on 4th April, 2024 via Republic News India, it has been clarified that the Medical Funds will be used solely for treatment in hospitals accredited by National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH) and the Educational Funds will be used solely for formal education in schools and universities accredited by the Indian Government.

So, the Estimation Letter or Admission Call Letter should match with the above criteria.

Our legal department will verify the submitted letters with the respective hospital or institute within 15 – 20 working days to ensure that the case is genuine.

It is hereby advised to all the registered Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) to collect the above documents and submit it to Google India private limited at the shortest possible time.

Google India Private Limited will release the hard copy of the Bank Cheque only after receiving the documents from the respective Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs). The Bank Cheque can only be encashed after our legal department gives a confirmation on the authenticity of the case.

This decision has been taken after the instances of misutilization of funds that has recently come to light and to safeguard CSR Funds during upcoming Lok Sabha Election.

Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) are strictly advised to scrutinize the documents before submitting it to Google India Private Limited.

Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) are required to send the Supporting Documents (Estimation Letter/ Admission Call Letter) of the Shortlisted Applicants via courier to the address given below.

The list of Shortlisted Applicants has already been intimated to the Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) on 30th and 31st March, 2024 over the mail.

Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) are requested to send the required documents as soon as possible to get the Hard Copy of the Bank Cheque at the shortest possible time.

We request the Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) for their proactiveness in submitting the valid documents which will help us to close the process at the earliest.

Further, as mentioned in the circular published on 4th April, 2024. The verification for “Refund of Application Fees” will start on 29th April, 2024 and the verification will be done within 15 – 20 working days. Registered NGOs and volunteers will get the refund cheque after the verification process is completed.

It is strongly advised that NGOs or Volunteers should submit the Valid Contact Details of the Applicants for the Verification Process.

We need valid contact details of the applicants who are marked as “Identity Mismatch”, “Invalid Number”, “NGO Agent”, “No Incoming Facility” and “Random Case” during the Verification Process. Please refer to the Feedback Sheet given to you by Google India Private Limited in the year October – November, 2023.

The Valid Contact Details can be re-submitted to us in an excel file. We need the Name, Contact Number and Aadhar Number of the Applicant to complete the Verification Process.

Refunds will not be offered to the applicants who do not get themselves verified.

Any forgery in the documents will result in severe legal action against the NGO and its administrative members, underscoring the seriousness with which Google India regards the proper utilization of CSR funds stated Spokesperson, Mr. Arpan Agrawal.

Irrespective of the situation, it is mandatory for all Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) to comply with the given guidelines set to safeguard CSR Funds for public welfare during upcoming Lok Sabha Election stated Spokesperson, Mr. Arpan Agrawal.

By enforcing strict guidelines and accountability measures, Google India aims to stop fraudulent or misutilization of CSR Funds and foster trust and confidence in its philanthropic efforts while ensuring that funds are utilized effectively for the betterment of communities.
