Noel Tata has been appointed as the new Chairman of Tata Trust. This decision was made during a recent meeting of the trust, which was previously headed by Ratan Tata before his passing. Tata Trust is a group of philanthropic organizations within the Tata Group, which boasts a revenue of ₹13 lakh crore, holding a significant 66% stake in the conglomerate. The Sir Dorabji Tata Trust and Sir Ratan Tata Trust, under Tata Trust, collectively own 52% of the stake in Tata Sons.
Noel Tata, who is the half-brother of Ratan Tata, will now carry forward his legacy. Although Ratan Tata was the prominent figure at Tata Trust, he did not appoint a successor before his death. This left the decision regarding his successor to be determined in the recent meeting, resulting in Noel Tata’s new leadership role.
Ratan Tata, a highly respected business magnate and recipient of the Padma Bhushan award, passed away late Wednesday night, with his funeral taking place the following Thursday.
