Hyderabad, February 07, 2022: The Telangana Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) is all geared up to serve the public with safe road transportation to take them to the festival and back to their places. TSRTC’s association with MedaramJatara goes back to 1968 when we first operated our buses. Since then our association with the World’s biggest Tribal Festival is intact. And TSRTC has been serving the public with renewed interest and dedication, said Mr V.C. Sajjanar, VC&MD of TSRTC while addressing a press conference at Bus Bhavan at RTC Cross Roads on Friday.

Another important news is that the bus charges will remain the same as last time, Mr VC Sajjanar informed.
The TSRTC will ply 3845 buses for MedaramJatara from 51 points and is expected to transport 23 lakh passengers.
These 51 bus operation points include Hanamkonda, Kazipet, Warangal, Janagaon, Hyderabad, Hyderabad Peripherals, Asifabad, Atmakur, Bellampally, Bhadrachalam, Bhupalpally, Chennur, Cherla, Chityal, Eturnagaram, Ghanpur(Mulugu) Ghanpur(Station), Godavarikhani, Govindaraopet, Gudur, Husnabad, Huzurabad, Jangalapally, Kaleshwaram, Karimnagar, Kataram, Khammam, Kothaguda, Kothagudem, Mahabubabad, Mallampally, Mancherial, Mandamarri, Mangapet, Manguru, Manthany, Mulug, Narlapoor, Narsampet, Palvancha, Parkal, Pasra, Peddapally, Peruru. Sironcha(Maharashtra), Sriram[ur, Thadvai, Thorrur, Vazedu, Venkatapur, Wardannapet and Yellandu and others.
Buses are being operated from Sironcha in Maharashtra also.
Though it cannot be seen from a commercial perspective,, for records, we are expected to clock a revenue of Rs 32 crore, Mr Sajjanar added.
The Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of Road Transport Corporation also launched “Medaram with TSRTC”, a specially developed App by four students-N. Sai Kaushik, P. Tharun, P Vishnukanth and C. Aniroo, all CSE students of Kakatiya Institute of Technology and Science(KITS), Warangal. The App was developed with support from their faculty Prof Pabba Srikanth, Dr V. Shankar, Santosh Kumar NC and Asst Professor Mohd Waseem. This was developed in coordination with Ms V. Sridevi, DVM(R), Warangal and V. Mohan Rao, Depot Manager, Hanamkonda. Rajasekhar CEIT and Rajasekhar ATM IT.
The App is developed to help pilgrims to plan their journey better. This is the first-ever launch in the history of RTC. The app can be downloaded from TSRTC official website “www.tsrtc.telangana.gov.in” and very soon from Google Play Store, Mr Sajjanar informed.
The App is developed for Android Mobile phones. The app gives information about Medaram, its history; Bus operating points; Details of special buses and their booking. Ticket booking, Tourist places in and around Medaram, Map to Medaram, with this link passengers can navigate Medaram on Google Map, Emergency Numbers; Hotels Nearby and others. It will also give a link to TSRTC social media.
We saw 19.10 lakh passengers travelling in the year 2020. During that year 3382 buses were operated, 50, 230 trips were undertaken and 60.87 lakh kilometers travelled. The year 2020 generated Rs 30crore revenue.
People with a group of 30 passengers can directly book a bus, which can go to their house. It can be booked on TSRTC’s Help Desk Number 040-30102829/040-68153333.
For this season, the corporation has run 523 buses, undertaken 1250 trips and 1.2 lakh passengers were facilitated. The RTC is pressing the services of 12, 500 staff and 300 officers.
It has developed a Temporary Bus station in a 50-acre base camp (Open Land). Besides these 6 acres at Mahavir Park and 9 acres at Kamaram is also being used for the same purpose. It has made elaborate arrangements for people to sit. It has also developed 42 Q-Lines. It has 7400 meters Q-Line. 300 volunteer services are being used to help the passengers. It has installed 100CCTVs to monitor Q-Lines.
Only RTC Buses are allowed to travel close to the main deity (Gadde). All the private vehicles will be allowed to park 6 to 7 km away. Hence, Mr Sajjanar advised people to use public transportation and save on effort in reaching the deity. He also informed that services of 30 shuttle buses will be used to ferry passengers from the private vehicle parking area near Gadde. This service is provided free of cost.
To avoid traffic jams due to breakdowns, the corporation has also put 11 mobile mechanical/repair teams in place.
Once the buses start their journey towards the destination, they are not supposed to stop in between. To ensure that they don’t stop, the RTC has put in place 25 chasing squads.
RTC has also arranged for a makeshift hospital, 3 ambulances are arranged as astandby to handle any medical emergencies. 4 RO Plants are also being set up for the convenience of the staff. All the staff will stay there for 8 days and their accommodation and arrangements for food etc is taken care of, Mr Sajjanar added.
The government has also agreed to give booster doses to all the staff who are deputed to work at Medaram. So that. their safety as well as public safety is also ensured.
The RTC Management has gone one step ahead to use the services of TSRTC Kala Brundams(an entertainment group) to propagate the importance of public transportation. Mr Sajjanar urged the public at large to encourage public transportation. It is ours and it belongs to all of us, he stated.
TSRTC will close its operations on 20th February.
