New Delhi, April 28: Commemorating World Earth Day 2026, Bajaj Foundation organized a cleanliness drive in Harkesh Nagar, Okhla, in partnership with its long-term collaborator, Tecno. The initiative brought together a group of students aged 10 -17 from Delhi Police Public School and Tagore International School.
Keeping this year’s theme, “Our Power, Our Planet,” at the centre, the drive reflected a shared vision between Bajaj Foundation and Tecno that translated awareness into action. By providing young individuals with an opportunity to take ownership of their environment, the initiative reaffirmed Bajaj Foundation’s long term vision that collective responsibility can drive tangible change at the grassroots level.
Students enthusiastically participated in cleaning two locations within the area, demonstrating not only agency but also a strong understanding of waste management and environmental responsibility. When asked what a clean city meant to Agastya, a student from Tagore International School, he shared,
“A clean city is where all of us take responsibility and do not litter. Not just for our own house, but for the entire city.”
Educators accompanying the students highlighted how sustainability is increasingly becoming an integral part of learning. One teacher noted,
“As a science educator, I make it a point to connect environmental concepts with real-world action, whether through community projects or encouraging students to come up with solutions to everyday sustainability challenges.”
Equipped with gloves, masks, and waste collection tools, the students carried out the drive with discipline and purpose. The seamless execution of the initiative was made possible with the support of Tecno, whose continued partnership enabled both resources and on-ground impact.
Speaking about the initiative, Pankaj Bajaj, Founder, Bajaj Foundation, emphasized the importance of youth-led action, stating,
“Real change begins when young people are given both the awareness and the agency to act. Initiatives like these are about building that sense of ownership early on.”
Through collaborative efforts like this, Bajaj Foundation and Tecno continue to demonstrate how partnerships can drive meaningful community engagement. More than just a one-day activity, the drive stood as a powerful reminder that the future of the planet lies in collective, conscious action.
