Pune (Maharashtra) [India]: Dnyaan Prasad Global University (DPGU) will hold its First Convocation Ceremony and inaugurate its newly established academic facilities on Thursday, 29 October 2026, from 11:00 a.m. onwards, at the DPGU School of Management & Research, Survey No. 138, Jeevan Nagar, Tathawade Campus, Pune.
Hon. Shri Chandrakant (Dada) Patil, Minister of Higher & Technical Education, Textiles and Parliamentary Affairs, Government of Maharashtra, will be the Chief Guest. He will also formally inaugurate the University’s new academic facilities.
Hon. Shri Rajesh Pande, Member of the University Advisory Council, Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), will attend the occasion as Guests of Honour.
The University will confer the honorary degree of Doctor of Literature (D.Litt.) on Shri Vijay Baviskar, Group Editor, Lokmat Media Pvt. Ltd., Pune, in recognition of his distinguished contributions and accomplishments.
The programme will commence with the arrival of dignitaries and an assembly in the foyer for photographs, followed by the ceremonial procession, Vande Mataram and lamp lighting. The President will declare the Convocation open, after which the Vice-Chancellor will deliver the welcome address and present the University report. The dignitaries will be felicitated, and the graduands will be presented. This will be followed by the President’s exhortation and the award of gold medals. The Guest of Honour will then be introduced and address the gathering, followed by the conferment of the honorary D.Litt. degree. The Pro-Chancellor and the President will address the gathering, followed by the introduction of the Chief Guest and his Convocation address. The ceremony will conclude with the vote of thanks, declaration of closure and the National Anthem. Following the retreat of the ceremonial procession, the new academic facilities will be formally inaugurated.
Dignitaries attending the occasion will include Hon. Dr. P. D. Patil, Founder & President, Dr. D. Y. Patil Unitech Society, Pune, and Hon. Dr. (Mrs.) Bhagyashree P. Patil, President, DPGU. They will be joined by Hon. Dr. Somnath P. Patil, Pro-Chancellor, DPGU; Hon. Dr. Rohini S. Patil, Chief Operating Officer, DPGU; Hon. Dr. Smita Y. Jadhav, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune; Dr. Yashraj P. Patil, Treasurer, Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth Society, Pune; Dr. Mohan B. Waman, Vice-Chancellor, DPGU; and Dr. Ranjit D. Patil, Registrar (I/c.), DPGU.
The invitation has been extended by the President, Pro-Chancellor, Chief Operating Officer and Vice-Chancellor of DPGU, along with members of the University’s Governing Body, Board of Management and Academic Council.
The First Convocation marks a significant milestone in DPGU’s academic journey, celebrating the achievements of its first graduating students and reaffirming the University’s commitment to multidisciplinary education, research, innovation and academic excellence in alignment with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
