When and how did you develop an interest in travel and photography?
My father has a great influence on me growing up. He was passionate about travel and photography that how my interest in photography started. I went on holiday and was clicking photos left, right and center with my phone and camera. Soon after that I started posting my reviews, feedbacks and started uploading images onto Instagram.
Travel has always been a passion of mine. I also studied and lived away from home, where I was inspired by other cultures and languages of people around me.
When did you realize that posting your photos on Instagram can be a profession?
When I first joined Instagram back in 2014, I had no idea whatsoever that this is a real career and I could monetize through Instagram. Soon, brands started contacting me for collaboration and to promote their products.
You take some incredible photos. Can you share some of your best tips for people who also want to take great travel photos?
I really love taking photos and work a lot on my content to make my feed unique! For beginners, you do not need a DSLR. I mostly click with iPhone 11 and edit my pictures/videos on different apps. Most convenient apps for editing are Snapseed and InShot.
Can you tell us about your photographic style? How has it changed over time?
Looking back on my old images, I’m not sure what I was thinking. My photography and editing has changed over the last 7 years and it continues to do so every day. I still prefer my images to be bright and vivid but I try to use the saturation slider sparingly now, as opposed to in the past when I used it liberally. It has been surely a long process but you have to keep up with the times. Things I posted on Instagram 7 years ago would not pass muster now. So improving your own content and style is my main aim.
What have been the most difficult obstacles you’ve faced?
It is a tedious process to get that perfect shot and try to create new and different content every time. Editing can also take up some hours. Major challenges are certainly due to Covid-19, during this pandemic when travel has been banned, big collaborations got cancelled.
What advice do you have for aspiring photographers and social media influencers?
Post what you enjoy and stay active only if you have the passion. Staying consistent is the key to success. Use relevant hashtags, comment and engage with pages that post similar content but more than anything, just enjoy what you do and create content.
What are your future plans?
All I want to do now is travel more as soon as coronavirus restrictions are lifted, create more content and share my experience with my followers.
