Hyderabad, March 22: As part of the 34th Brahmostavamulu of Sri Sri Sri Amodagiri Srinivasa Perumal at Apollo Hospitals, today, the acclaimed and celebrated Telugu theatre performance “Maya Bazar” was hosted in the Apollo Hospitals lawns at Jubilee Hills. The Maya Bazar Play swayed the audience of yester years with its powerful performances and had an overwhelming fan following. Despite the advent of modern cinema and TV, Surabhi Theatre Group in specific and the Traditional Theatre in general, still carry the charm and most audience cherishes those nostalgic moments even today.

Surabhi Theatre Company (Surabhi Nataka Samstha) with a history of 137 years, is a family held drama company and a name to reckon with for theatre in the Telugu states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Sri Venkateswara Surabhi Theater, a part of the Surabhi Nataka Samstha, and Jayachandra Varma’s troupe are performing Surabhi’s famous drama show Mayabazar with 50 talented artists. The Mayabazar play with its special effects, tricks, and theatrics is no lesser than the animation shows. The Mayabazar movie in Telugu was inspired by the Surabhi company’s Mayabazar play.

Sri Sri Amodagiri Srinivasa Perumal temple was consecrated on March 6th, 1988, at the Apollo Hospitals, Jubilee Hills. Since than the temple has been celebrating Brahmostavamulu every year, besides all other festivities, as per the traditions.
