Pali, (Rajasthan), October 30: The first thing that comes to mind when we think about Rajasthan is its rich culture, which includes royal palaces, gigantic forts, traditional dance, and folk music. Nonetheless, its cinema, the Rajasthani Film Industry, goes largely unnoticed.

The quantity of films produced in the Rajasthani Film Industry has decreased dramatically throughout the 2000s. Lack of promotion is one among the significant factors contributing to the decline. Nowadays, filmmakers and creators devote a significant amount of time and money on film promotion. So, if a film doesn’t get enough attention due to a lack of promotion, which can also be a result of a lack of funding, the film may not do as well in the theatre.

Shailesh Ghanchi, model and actor, who was recently featured in Rajasthani love song “Dil Dhadke” says, “Rajasthan’s film industry is one of India’s most undervalued. Rajasthan boasts the best of sites, a lovely culture, a diverse cuisine, and clear weather for shooting, but we still need to question why Rajasthan’s film has gone unrecognised for so long while having a competitive advantage over other regional industries.”

“If Haryanvi, Bhojpuri, and Punjabi industries can make their impact nationally and even globally then why can’t we?” He interrogates further.

Moreover, ‘Haan Toom’ fame Shailesh has collaborated with L’Oréal Professional and is looking forward to work with Bollywood and celebrity fashion designer Rohit Verma, his debut reality show Himalyan Survivor is scheduled to air shortly on MTV. In his forthcoming initiatives, he would promote Rajasthani folk culture with Rajasthani rapper Suma Supari.

Talking about his dreams, Shailesh Ghanchi concludes and says, “I wish to see the Rajasthani film industry grow to the point that the world film industry notices it.”
