2. BABA GHULAM SHAH BADSHAH UNIVERSITY

The Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly passed the Jammu & Kashmir Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University Act No. XVI of 2002 established Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University. The University’s slogan is “IqrabismiRabbikalladiKhalaq,” which translates as “Read in the name of GOD who created all that exists.” The Act identifies the University’s goal as importing excellent education and conducting research in basic and job-related disciplines. As a result, the University provides various teaching programmes in Business Management, Social Sciences, BioSciences, Computer Sciences, Information Technology, Arabic, Mathematics, Nursing, Tourism, Education, Languages, and B.Tech., Diploma in Engineering, and Doctoral Programs.

Candidates must have passed the 10+2 or equivalent examination individually in the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English Core/English Elective and must have obtained a minimum of 45% marks taken together in PCB subjects from a recognised board under AISSCE/CBSE/ICSE/SSCE/HSCE or other equivalent Board or students appearing in the 10+2 examination in science conducted by National Institute of Open School with 45% marks.

The candidate must be a resident of the UT of J&K/UT of Ladakh. Candidates who do not have a domicile certificate can upload an undertaking certificate while filling out the application form. Rajiv Gandhi Educational Society manages the institution (Reg. no. 1828-S of 1992). Rajiv Gandhi College of Nursing is affiliated with the University of Jammu, a renowned university founded in 1969. The college is affiliated with the Govt. Medical College Hospitals Jammu and all of its allied hospitals, including the recently created Super Specialty Hospital and ASCOMS Medical College Jammu, for hospital and clinical training.

The University of Jammu offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree programme. The course lasts for four years.

Admission criteria- 

  1. Admission age limit: A candidate for admission to B.Sc (Nursing) must have completed 17 years and be no older than 25 years old on December 31st of the year of admission. In the case of SC and ST candidates, the upper age restriction would be eased by three years.
  2. Gender: Male/Female
  3. Educational Background:
  4. Passed 10th and 12th examinations with Biology, Physics, Chemistry, and English as optional subjects conducted by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education or any Examination recognised as equivalent to it, and
  5. Secured no less than 45% marks in the intermediate or equivalent examination’s optional subjects. In the case of SC and ST candidates, it must be at least 40% of the total marks.
  6. The candidate should have good physical, mental, and moral health.

5. BEE ENN COLLEGE OF NURSING

The General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) training programme at the Bee Enn Nursing Institute (A unit of Bee Enn Charitable Trust) began in 1998. The Bee Enn College of Nursing was founded in 2009 and had a 50-student capacity for its B.Sc(N) training programme. A 50-person capacity Post Basic B.Sc(N) training programme was also added in 2013. In 2018-2019, the courses’ intake capacity was increased to 60 students. The college is situated in ChakBhalwal, Jammu, and is affiliated with the University of Jammu. The Indian Nursing Council, the J&K State Nursing/ Paramedical Council, and the J&K State Government have all approved the institution.

  1. Both men and women can apply. 
  2. After completing 12 years of study in the following subjects—Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Botany and Zoology—candidates from all categories must pass the qualifying examination (Academic stream) to be admitted to the B.Sc., Degree programme in Nursing (BASIC).
  3. Each applicant must have a certificate of medical fitness from a licenced medical professional stating that they are physically capable of completing the course before being admitted to the programme.
  4. Passing the Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (12 Years Course) (Or) Senior School Certificate Examination (10+2) (Or) Pre-degree Examinations (10+2) (Or) An Equivalent with 12 Years of Schooling from a Recognized Board shall constitute the minimum educational qualifications.
  5. “Individual Pass in Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Botany and Zoology (both Theory and Practical) and English with at least 40% in each of the subjects above and at least 45% in the combined scores of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English.”
  6. The applicant must be at least 17 years old at the time of admission or must reach that age by December 31 of the year of admission to the first-year nursing course.
